RE: Odd ball Winterizing Tricks and Tips

Heck, all I do is: -drain the hot water heater, water tank, gray and black tanks. -run RV antifreeze through the water system (2 gallons get run through so all the P-traps get full and the gray and black tanks get some too for their valves) -pull out the canned foods that will freeze -dust off the solar panel every week so it can keep the batteries up -check the battery volts every week. -put in a full propane tank. And let her get down to -45F. She's a safe haven far enough from the house just in case we have a fire at those temps.

Roof Storage Question

I'm looking for suggestions for roof top storage for my TC. I have two aluminum rails built into the top rear of my roof...for the cargo basket. They run side to side rather than front to back. Rather than drill more holes in my roof for an aerodynamic cargo pod that's oriented front to back, I'd like to find a pod that I can mount side to side on the existing rails. Anyone done this, know about it, have suggestions?

RE: Auto-rewind reel for the power cord

Nice job! Here's what some folks use up here: The Arctic Leash Of course, this won't have the current capacity of what you built.

RE: Sealed AGM in your TC without it being in a battery box?

I've got a 100ah AGM mounted without a box in my TC. I made a couple of 1x1" wood strips around the battery base, screwed them to the floor so it cannot slide around and then strapped it down with a wide strap so it can't move. No issues after two years of rough roads and I don't expect any.

RE: above the Artic circle 2008

The rainbow pictures were taken around the start of the tundra ( Kakuktukruich Bluff area) ,the misquito's were so thick they almost carried me away. the last is from the Haines area Yep, the mosquitoes are just plain nasty up there. Anyhow, great pics, 54suds!

RE: above the Artic circle 2008

Great pics, 54suds! Whereabouts were you when you took those? By the way, Arctic is spelled with a C as in arCtic.... :B

When it's snowing and blowing and dark and nasty and about 3am and my little peanut-sized bladder is calling the shots..... ....I like my Outfitter's toilet! The shower is great too. :W

RE: how to get a tall popup into a small workshop (83" door)

Not hijacking the thread, but...I know what you mean about restrictive HOA rules. Can you imagine what I had to go through to put this in? LOL! http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i241/propgrinder/PropgrinderAvenue.jpg

RE: Spelling Police!

Well, I for one will be glad when you folks can afford fuel for your trucks and campers.... I can't believe how much bandwidth has been wasted on this thread. I like reading bright, clever, ingenious, problem solving posts about truck campers and the places that the truck camper owners visit that others can't or won't. I don't mind you grading my spelling if it turns you on... but don't start a pity party about it... or at least don't invite me. Now, back to all things "Truck Camper". to T/C's, boondocking, camping, travels, LED's, off-road vehicle and boat hauling, repairs, dealers, manufacturers, driving techniques, etc. This time I think I'll vote for "Function before form!" This thread and it's op could easily be entered into the "Around the campfire" worst waste of thread space award for the year. Sleeeeepy Jeez, Sleeeeepy, can't you have any fun in your life? The glass isn't half empty, it's half full. Enclosed is a check for a full refund of your bandwidth. And, thank you for the Waste Of Thread Space Award! It will sit on my mantle along with the Spelling Bee award. Have a nice day! :B

RE: Spelling Police!

Boy, I wish I had a buck for every misspelling of artic I've seen on this forum! Wow, this rant followed by such a lengthy thread and nobody pointed out that even you mispelled Arctic. LOL! You're the ONLY one who caught that! But....you misspelled misspelled, you know....:B:B
